GroundStack Coffee

Local Coffee Shop

Website Redesign, Rebranding, Photography

Industrial Meets Cozy

The first moment you walk into GroundStack Coffee, you’ll see the blend of homey and comforting furniture with the inspiration of the industrial background of the bay area.

After a successful year serving specialty coffee, my client wanted to redesign their website to better align with their brand. We both wanted to avoid overused templates and emulate the warm, but modern look of the space online while informing potential customers about their  products and services that benefit the community.

The audience

This shop is located in an active area of their community and only steps away from a private college. Our target audience is the students and staff of the college who could utilize the space for themselves or for events while also inviting local professionals that would need a space to take a coffee break or set up meetings with clients of their own.

Creating the Online Experience

Together we worked on an “scrapbook” style website that emphasized community and coffee! Using a color palette that emulated the aesthetic of the space allows customers to get a sense of of the space  while also emphasize the friendliness of the shop.

I wanted potential customers to meet the baristas online and know more about the owner’s belief in community before they even step foot into the coffee shop.

Mobile Friendly Menu

One of the highest priorities  for bar and restaurant websites, is to provide a clear and accessible menu. This coffee shop in particular brews specialty French Press coffee and needed to clearly let their future customers know the uniqueness of their menu.  Frequently, menus are usually provided online via pdf, static images, or third party restaurant software; leaving opportunities for obsolete information, buggy files, and link breaks to go unresolved. The goal of this menu was to create an engaging experience that would help break down the different types of product visually without overwhelming the customer.
